The #14 Shanghai Style Pan Fried Pork Buns (10) were 5 pieces of culinary art. They’re basically the cousin of the more popular xiao long bao (soup dumplings) but with thicker skin (hence, bun) and shallow fried. The buns weren’t just a vessel for the soup and meat, but were a delight in and of themselves. It was a marvel - our first bites were crisp with a touch of doughiness, and even when we let them sit for ‘too long’ in the excess soup, the buns held up, and were still crisp when we bit into them later. Magic. They did not play with the amount of meat in these buns - see images, they’re stuffed!! Since they’re soup buns, the meat basically has this reciprocal and simbiotic relationship with the broth. The broth soaked up the meatiness and fattiness of the pork, and this relationship also meant that the meat was juicy, salty, and tender, but there was still a good amount of bounce in every bite. The broth was golden. It was savoury and fatty and salty and clear and piping hot. I did burn my eye a little lol but it was worth it (be careful when biting into it because ur eye is literally right there and the soup just squirts out!!!) the broth was so comforting; I’m being dramatic but I feel like it would heal me if I were sick lmao. Okay this is long enough. I’m so happy I had these.

Highly recommend this place for their pan fried pork buns!! It was worth the little wait. The quantity is good for the price, a bargain compared to fancy restaurants. Just trust the lineup and popularity of this food court! Be careful with the hot juice inside the dimsum, they even have a sign to warn customers. They make the food in front of the customers so you can see how fresh and legit this is!

The OG XLB place in Crystal Mall. The dumplings are made from scratch, with nicely sized portions for today's prices. Juicy and flavourful with every bite, with the dough not being too tough or chewy. If I'm here and want a tasty snack, I always walk over to the end of the food court. I never even knew the name; to me, it was just the yellow stand at the end, but I always recommended it to anyone.

I didn't know a fried xiaolongbao exist until I tried this. It's crazy!! It was really good, I underestimated it because it went viral. But they only accept cash, so bring your cash! Highly recommended because it was huge too.

Best soup dumplings in the city, maybe some of the best in the world! This is our Saturday escape from the kids, eating super tasty food they don't like. The deep fried porks buns and soup dumplings are my favorites both have the wonderful soup inside. Be ready for some mouth burns though as they come out stupid hot and you need to eat them on the verge of pain to get maximum flavor! First bite a small hole in the side, then pour out the soup into a spoon. Of course drink the soup. Once all the soup is done it should be cool enough to eat, perfection!

Great food court gem for Shanghai food. Ordered XLB, green onion pancake, and pork fried dumplings. It was very busy for a Friday afternoon, so the order took maybe 15 mins. The XLB was super fresh, loaded with hot soup, and very tasty. Similar for the pork fried dumplings. The green onion pancake was OK, maybe a tad too crispy for my liking. Finding a table in the food court was a challenge. So you'll have to be patient and quickly grab an available seat.
